Ferrari 488 Pista in Azzurro Dino: The Track Version in the Most Historic Blue
The Ferrari 488 Pista is already among the most focused road cars Ferrari has ever produced. Add Azzurro Dino — a blue drawn from Ferrari’s deepest heritage — and the result is something that belongs in the conversation alongside the rarest Ferrari configurations in recent memory. At Vegas Auto Gallery, we have seen a lot of special Ferraris, and this one commands the room.
What Makes the Pista Different
The 488 Pista is not a comfort-trimmed 488 with a performance package. Ferrari developed it as the road-going distillation of technologies proven in the 488 Challenge one-make race series and the 488 GTE competing at Le Mans and Daytona. The 3.9-litre twin-turbocharged V8 produces around 710 horsepower — more than the standard 488 GTB and achieved through a revised intake, lighter components, and a calibration that rewards commitment.
Weight reduction is relentless throughout. Carbon fibre appears on the front bumper, bonnet, mirrors, and rear diffuser. The rear screen is Lexan. The titanium exhaust saves kilograms the standard car never spared. What remains is a car that communicates precisely and punishes nothing — the Pista’s Side Slip Control calibration is tuned for a driver who knows what they are doing and wants the car to follow rather than intervene.
Azzurro Dino: A Colour With a History
Azzurro Dino is named for the small-displacement Dino sports cars Ferrari produced in the late 1960s and early 1970s — a moment in Ferrari history beloved by collectors for its purity and relative accessibility at the time. The colour is a mid-depth blue that reads differently under each light source: electric under showroom lighting, almost navy in shadow, brilliant in full sun. On a Pista, with its aggressive aero and track-developed surfaces, Azzurro Dino creates a tension between elegance and intention that very few colour-on-car combinations achieve.

Nick Dossa has always believed the right colour transforms a great car into a memorable one. This 4K walkaround captures what Azzurro Dino does to the Pista’s surfaces in ways that photographs rarely convey. The Pista was built to win races in disguise. Azzurro Dino is the disguise that makes it impossible to look away.
